Hello! I'm Jaime (in Spanish)

he/him

I'm from Peru, currently at UC Berkeley's MIMS program. And I am passionate about building products that scratch a certain itch for people, making them actually enjoy them. My background in IT business analysis gave me the ability to understand systems deeply while staying close to the people who use them. I learn new tools quickly, love collaborating across disciplines and cultures, and am driven by the idea that good technology should make life measurably better. Music helps too!

Discovery Mode: Spotify Feature Idea

An end-to-end product concept for a conversational AI companion within Spotify, developed through user interviews, competitive analysis, and product strategy frameworks. The concept evolved through multiple rounds of prototyping, user feedback, and strategy refinement; iterating on both the experience and the product vision until they aligned. Users describe their mood in natural language and receive personalized recommendations: a more human alternative to algorithmic playlists.

Goal To design an emotionally intelligent music discovery feature backed by rigorous product thinking, market research, and iterative validation.

Jaime's Recs: Semantic Music Search

Personal music discovery platform that lets users search my Spotify library using natural language. The twist: every song was manually tagged and described by me, so recommendations reflect how I hear and categorize music, not an algorithm. The closer your words match my vibe, the better the match.

Goal To build a search experience that understands vibe, not just keywords.

Common Thread: Resource Matching

A high-fidelity prototype of a community resource matching platform built through the full UX design process. The matching system was built around a framework developed through direct interviews with Bay Area service providers, grounding the tool in how these organizations actually operate, not how we assumed they did. Every design decision, from information architecture to interaction patterns, traces back to real user insight.

Goal To solve a real access gap in community services using human-centered design from research to prototype.
